About CareBridge

Who we are

CareBridge is an independent software product, built and operated from Vilnius, Lithuania. It is not a healthcare provider, a monitoring agency, or a medical-device company, and it is not backed by or affiliated with any of the products we write about. The registered operator and the governing law are named in our terms of use.

Everything on this site — the product and the guides — is published under the CareBridge name by the people who build the service.

What CareBridge does

CareBridge is a passive activity monitor for adult children of elderly parents who live alone. A free Android app on the parent's phone records one signal — whether the screen has been unlocked recently — and sends a heartbeat every 15 minutes, so a phone that is off or offline is visible too. In the caregiver's web dashboard you set an inactivity threshold and your parent's sleep window. If daytime silence crosses the threshold, we send a push notification and an email to you and up to four trusted contacts.

The dashboard costs $16.99 per year after a 7-day free trial that starts on the phone's first heartbeat, not at signup. The app is free. There is a 14-day money-back guarantee — see our refund policy.

What CareBridge is not

  • Not a medical device, and not a substitute for emergency services. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
  • Not fall detection. We detect unusual silence, not falls or medical events. A CareBridge alert means “go check” — call, message a neighbour, drive over.
  • Not an SOS button. There is nothing for your parent to press, and nothing is dispatched on their behalf.
  • Not location tracking. The app never requests GPS, microphone, camera, SMS or photo access. There is no location data, because we never collect any. See our privacy policy.
  • Android only. There is no iOS version and none is planned — Apple's background-execution limits do not permit the passive check-ins this approach depends on.

Why we write these guides

We build and run the monitoring service, so the operational side of this problem is something we deal with directly: how often an ordinary phone actually gets picked up, what a realistic inactivity threshold looks like, why a device stops reporting, and where passive monitoring genuinely fails. That is the experience we can offer, and it is the only kind we claim.

We are not clinicians and we do not give medical advice. Where an article touches a health decision, we say so and point readers at a doctor. Most comparisons we publish involve a product that competes with ours, and we say that in the article itself. How we research and correct them is written up in our editorial policy.
